May in Puffin Season at Fields Lodge B&B

By this time of year, we would be full constantly at the B&B with guests looking forward to their trips onto Skomer Island and the boat trips around that island and the others.

A trip out to Grassholm Island is always a joy too!

    Live Puffin News

So, to help with any Puffin ‘cold turkey’, a few things are in hand:

There is a live cam feed from Skomer, which is keeping us up to date and also each Wednesday at noon (BST) Lizzie Daly is going live on Facebook with Iolo Williams on the WTSWW Facebook Page and giving us the latest on what’s happening on Skomer Island, the birds and nature.

    May at Fields Lodge

So, we are into the beginning of May, and by now, we would be full every day here at the B&B. There wouldn’t be the massive early morning queues as yet, you could still arrive by 8.30 and get a ticket, but wait just another 2 weeks and it will be crazy.

There are a maximum of 250 people allowed on the island on any one day, and this is subject to weather permitting of course.

We usually are in close contact with those at Lockley Lodge and the Skippers of the boat that take you across to make sure we give you the most up to date information as far as queuing is concerned.

No one wants to get up any earlier than they need to!

    Lockdown weirdness

So, at the moment in the B&B, it really is quite weird.

    No guests.

    No Aga on,

    The kitchen is cold

    The B&B is cold

    No fire in the hearth

No music in the dining room

    No angels 🙁

    Soon…..

We are staying positive and we are ready at a minutes’ notice to start welcoming guests again, once we can.

Having always had a very stringent cleaning protocol and this will be stepped up even further going forward, to ensure that we keep our lovely guests safe and well, as well as keeping ourselves safe too!

And, we are adopting a new ‘worry free’ booking policy, which means that you can amend  or change your booking anytime up to 48 hours before your holiday start date, which will give you comfort and peace of mind.

Myself and all the angels very much look forward to welcoming you soon, as soon as you can!

    In the meantime, stay safe.
