Whoop whoop! We have been shortlisted for TWO Eviivo awards!! A UK Based award ceremony, we have been successful in being declared finalists from all the applications received throughout the UK and couldn’t be more delighted!
We have been successful in the Tastiest Breakfast and also the Hidden Gem category. The awards ceremony takes place in October, so watch this space.
What happens next?
Between now and then (I think-waiting to hear more) I have to go and cook for a judge, one of our breakfast dishes as this category-Tastiest Breakfast is judged in person. Last year the judge was Phil Vickery, the year before it was Michelin Star Michel Roux Jr and before that Prue Leith-prestigious judges indeed!
We’re very excited, as being multi-time holders of Pembrokeshire’s Finest Breakfast and Welsh B&B of the Year we are always keen to keep our game at the top and being chosen as a finalist is some recognition that we are still achieving that aim. There are some truly magnificent businesses out there, so to be chosen as a finalist amongst such great peers is fabulous!
It’s really great that a company such as Eviivo is highlighting the great work performed by all the independent, often small, hotels, B&Bs and guest houses and the publicity surrounding the awards will help drive this sector further. Tourism in Pembrokeshire is the biggest employer in the county, and although each business is a micro business, the weight of all these businesses together makes up a huge part of ensuring a healthy local economy. Eviivo is helping get this message out there! See my infographic as to how our small B&B has such a great impact on the economy.
Open to everyone
It’s also really great that these awards are open to everyone, as I do not even use Eviivo! For those of you that may not know–Eviivo is a booking system for independent hoteliers and is widely used in Tourism. I haven’t used this system as yet, as I am well versed with my initial system. In a lot of ways am a fan of ‘if it’s working, don’t fix it’ theory, so for the moment, I shall stick with what I have. It is something, as with everything, when you’re in business, is always being reviewed.
So, watch this space for more news on how we’re progressing!
